Hitler’s Quest for Aryans Essay -- History, Holocaust

Imagine being shoved off of an old, dirty train and not having a clue where you were headed. Everyone on the train is in incredible shock, and not much is heard except horrifying screams and cries from those around you. No one has access to food or water. Believe it or not, that is what you would have experienced if you lived in Germany, Poland, or Hungary about seventy years ago. Nearly six million Jews were murdered during the Holocaust. The Holocaust was much more than a cruel, belittling era; it was an atrocity beyond measure. On September 11, 2001, three thousand people were killed from a terrorist attack at the World Trade Center in New York City. That is not even a comparison to the Holocaust, in which six million Jews were murdered. The word â€Å"holocaust† has multiple meanings. In the early times, it meant a burnt offering to the gods (Downing 4). Middle Age citizens referred to it as a huge sacrifice or destruction (4). Between June 1941- March 1945, there were approximately four thousand Jews murdered each day (4). There is no way anyone can grasp how bad it must have been. Death, around camps, was expressed in many ways; starved, froze or worked to death, gassed in death chambers, or even shot for no reason at all. As the death rates rose, finding a place to bury everyone was becoming a perplexing challenge. With Hitler’s wish for living space, his goal for world domination and World War II as a cover, Hitler and his Nazi regime were able to carry out one of the greatest crimes in human history with about three and half million Jews being murdered at the death camps. All Hitler wanted was to eliminate defective genetic diseases, which in the end could endanger his wish for the Aryan race worldwide. ... ...sign was up above that read â€Å"Arbeit Machttrei† or work will make you free. This was a trick to the prisoners to make them believe they were going to an actual work camp. The camp was surrounded by barbed wire fence and had nine watch towers. The first few days at camp were spent in quarantine. Meaningless tasks were done and they were given very little food. Sleeping conditions were beyond awful. Some people even considered camp â€Å"a living hell† (Downing 31). The Holocaust was by far one of the worst events in history. So many people were killed for no reason at all. Hitler’s gal was not only to kill all Jews, but also to have a worldwide race of Aryans, blonde hair and blue eyes. There will never be enough horrifying words to describe the physical and mental pain each and every prisoner went through. Do you think you could have survived the Holocaust?

The Philippines for the longest time has been torn by two, not necessarily opposing, but somehow different, forces; the church and the state. Though there has been a decree on the inviolable separation of these entities , more often than not, when societal issues confronting the state’s political affairs fall under â€Å"moral dilemmas,† the church can not help coming into the scene. This is the same case happening with the season’s national concern: House Bill 96, otherwise known as the Reproductive Health, Responsible Parenthood and Population and Development Act . Banking on the potentials of the said bill to drastically minimize the ballooning population of the country, the Aquino administration openly admitted its all-out support for the bill’s being enacted into law. This could be done, as the bill suggests, through maintaining feedom of informed choice wherein parents, couples and women enjoy the liberty or option of choosing from a menu of modern natural and artificial family planning methods which are medically safe, legal, accessible, affordable and effective. This caused the moralist groups, headed by the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines, to react violently. They expressed apprehensions that such a bill was by nature promoting looser morals that would eventually lead to a morally-corrupt society. The inculcation of sex education in the academic curriculum is simply unorthodoxical, and as such, is morally unacceptable. However the bill’s proponents contented that the said bill is not what the moralist pictured it to be. That it is about the government’s wholesome response to reproductive health concerns that for ages have been left unattended, and which were held accountable for the rapid proliferation of  the Filipino race and the perennial poverty that goes with it. The discussion may seen endless as each party stands firm on the ideals it represents. But at the day’s end, it would always be up to the individual couple, the direct recipients of such a bill, to decide for theselves whether or not to adhere to the proposals of whom. It is just hoped that their decision is designed based on how it would serve the union best and the country’s welfare in general.

Abnormal Behavior, A Term That Is Often Thrown Around Without

Abnormal behavior, a term that is often thrown around without having the proper knowledge of the actual definition. Abnormal behavior goes way beyond just acting or behaving differently than what one might consider your â€Å"average Joe†. Abnormal behavior is behavior that interferes with everyday living when one cannot function with everyday tasks only then the behavior can be considered abnormal. Depression is an abnormal behavior being that it affects Persistent Depressive Disorder also known as PDD or it’s late name of Dysthymia is a chronic type state of depression in which a person’s mood is regularly low but does not hold symptoms as severe as major depression. The symptoms generally last in adult for about 2 years while in children and†¦show more content†¦The feeling of being sad, angry and irritable are generally normal and subside within a week or two but for some women it doesn’t go away just that easy, for some women the depression s ticks and begins to negatively affect their everyday life. The rate of successful suicides for males is higher because men tend to men turn to a more violent side of coping they become frustrated, discouraged, irritable, angry, and sometimes abusive. Some men even throw themselves into their work to avoid talking about their depression with family or friends, or behave recklessly. Most men don t seek help in any form or even talk about the challenging disorder they are facing and an effect of that would be the depression getting worse, absorbing them. There are some women that too allow their PDD to go untreated and deal with it by just not talking about it. A sort of personal experience with PDD is with a close relative of mine, who has been dealing with PDD for three years now and it has greatly affected her. She described waking up everyday with a heavy heart, she could not remember a day when she did not feel this way, the feeling you get when you lose a close relative, that is the feeling she woke up with each morning. For as long as she can remember each day she was sadden by the fact that she had awaken once again and would have to live through yet another sad and gloomy day yet she could not figure out why each day felt this way.
